I enjoy representing or including the natural world in my work. Trees and flower images are depicted in their entirety; roots often placed on a woman’s slip at the “centre of the universe”; flowers, fruits or leaves at the breasts. Pictures from bamboo in my garden become a silkscreen to pigment a city on a man’s shirt, circling around him, chasing his shirt-tails. A skirt and bra I made from recycled jute is grown with wheatgrass to become a ‘living’ bra. A weaving of bicycle tires, copper, ribbon and pearls hangs in my garden as a lattice for scarlet runner beans to grow and then is uprooted to be worn.
